“100B KRW Net Worth?” Kim Jong-kook Shocks with Extreme Frugality: Awake Colonoscopies & Reused Wet Wipes

Despite being rumored to have a net worth of 100 billion KRW (approx. 70 million USD), singer and TV personality Kim Jong-kook has once again stunned the public with his extreme frugality.
On an upcoming episode of KBS2’s “Problem Child in House,” set to air on April 3 at 8:30 PM KST, Kim Jong-kook reveals a series of lifestyle habits that range from quirky to downright astonishing.

Famously dubbed the “Nation’s Plastic Bag Guy” for hoarding stacks of plastic bags on his balcony, Kim candidly confessed, “I skipped anesthesia for my colonoscopy to save money, I recommend staying awake so you can chat with the doctor!”
His money-saving tendencies didn’t stop there. Kim admitted to wearing underwear with holes and regularly repairing old socks, even demonstrating his sock inspection skills on fellow cast members Song Eun-i, Kim Sook, Hong Jin-kyung, Joo Woo-jae, and Yang Se-chan.

Another shocker: he’s still using wet wipes and tissues gifted to him as housewarming presents, seven years ago. Kim questioned, “We lived fine without wet wipes, why use them now?”
The cast couldn’t help but react. Song Eun-i declared, “I’m a victim of Kim’s teachings. Now I just dry and reuse wet wipes, they remind me of him.” Hong Jin-kyung added with a laugh, “I should just stop using wet wipes altogether.”
While fans may be baffled by the contrast between Kim Jong-kook’s alleged wealth and his thrifty habits, it’s clear he wears his frugality like a badge of honor, one sock at a time.
