
On November 21 (PST), the 1st day of the 2024 MAMA Awards (2024 MAMA Day 1) was held the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California, the United States.
The event, hosted by famous actor Park Bo-gum, drew attention as it kicked of one of Korea’s most prominent music award ceremonies.


On this day, winnersfor sub categories, such as the rookie awards and performance awards were announced, with artist TWS, RIIZE, ILLIT, Young Posse, and J.Y.Park delivering outstanding performances.
Some groups also delivered special covers of famous senior artists, including BTS, TWICE, and NCT 127.

Meanwhile, at this award ceremony, ILLIT drew attention with their acceptance speech that seemingly alluded to the “ILLIT copying NewJeans controversy”.
RIIZE also addressed the departure of the boy group’s former member, Seunghan.
