K-pop legends 2NE1 returned to the stage on June 3 at a major festival in Los Angeles, but their performance as a trio, CL, Sandara Park, and Minzy, without Park Bom, has ignited waves of fan speculation and online discussion.
The absence of Park Bom, who had been in LA as recently as May 21 according to a post on her social media, raised eyebrows among fans and media.
Despite being physically present in the city, she did not participate in the group’s high-profile reunion performance, prompting questions about the reasons behind her decision.
Meanwhile, the other three members shared celebratory posts and a group photo from the performance. CL captioned her post, “Thank you LA,” while Sandara Park thanked fans and added, “Thank you Blackjacks (2NE1’s official fandom),” and Gong Minzy wrote, “Ain’t never gonna stop.” The images clearly showcased the trio confidently commanding the stage.
The LA appearance follows the group’s successful “Welcome Back” encore concert held at Seoul’s KSPO Dome, which concluded their world tour with a triumphant finale.
As of now, no official statement has been made regarding Park Bom’s absence, but the trio’s unified presence and enthusiastic messaging suggest ongoing activity and possibly a new chapter for 2NE1 as a trio.
