Following their announcement of not renewing personal contracts with YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK members are actively shaping new directions for themselves
Lisa
As the ambassador for luxury brands including Bulgari, Celine, Mac, and Prada, Lisa has always been a busy individual. However, rumors suggest that Lisa will venture into acting in 2024.
Global media has widely speculated that Lisa will join the cast of “The Walking Dead” for the upcoming season, as she was spotted at a football match in the Champions League with actor Norman Reedus from “The Walking Dead.” Both Reedus and the official Instagram account of the TV show have followed the singer, providing fans with hints about what might unfold.
Regardless of Lisa’s chosen path, the idol will undoubtedly continue to make an impact. Last month, Lisa was voted the most influential figure in politics and entertainment in Thailand, in a survey conducted by Suan Dusit University in Bangkok with over 7,000 participants.
The details of Lisa’s solo career management and contract specifics are currently kept confidential.
Jennie
2024 promises to be an exciting and busy year for Jennie, the face of Chanel’s Coco Crush campaign. Additionally, in late December 2023, Jennie confirmed the establishment of her new label, Odd Atelier (OA), which will oversee all her solo projects.
Jennie stated, “Last year brought many achievements, and I’m grateful for all the love I received. I’m also excited about what’s to come as I embark on my solo journey in 2024 with a company I founded called OA. Please show lots of love for my new beginning with OA and, of course, for BLACKPINK as well.”
In 2023, Jennie made her Hollywood debut in HBO’s “The Idol” with Lily-Rose Depp, a series that faced intense criticism and cancellation after one season. However, this hasn’t deterred Jennie, who is set to join the main cast of the reality show “Apartment 404.”
“Apartment 404” is a reality TV show inspired by real events. Each episode promises to traverse different years and spaces, evoking the hidden detective skills of viewers. The show is expected to attract significant attention when it premieres in February.
Jisoo
The eldest member of BLACKPINK, Jisoo, and ambassador for Dior and Cartier, has detailed plans for her upcoming projects in 2024. The singer is rumored to have her younger brother, Kim Jung-hun, and his management company, Blisoo, represent her in solo endeavors in the future. Earlier this year, the company advertised job opportunities featuring Jisoo’s image, accompanied by enticing promises of a unique experience working with an artist in a startup company.
The budding actress, who started her acting career with the Korean drama “Snowdrop,” will return to the small screen in the romantic drama “Influenza” on Coupang Play, set to be released this year. Jisoo will also make her big-screen debut in “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint,” a film based on a popular Korean web novel.
Rosé
Among all BLACKPINK members, Rosé has been the most discreet in recent months, with little information about her plans for 2024. Following the success of her solo hit “On the Ground” in 2021, it remains unknown who will manage Rosé’s solo projects in the future.
Nevertheless, as an ambassador for various brands, including Sulwhasoo skincare and Rimowa luggage, as well as fashion brand Saint Laurent and jewelry brand Tiffany & Co., Rosé is evidently thriving. In September 2023, Tiffany launched the Tiffany Lock collection inspired by the artist. The collection features 18k rose gold combined with extremely rare pink sapphire stones.
Alexandre Arnault, Executive Vice President of Tiffany & Co., later shared insights about the Tiffany Lock collection and the inspiration behind its launch: “Rosé is a music superstar, expressing many facets, from cute and beautiful to charming, elegant, and powerful… Especially, her music has the power to connect. That’s why the Tiffany Lock collection is inspired by Rosé. It’s not an exaggeration to say that Tiffany Lock truly embodies the spirit and personality of the artist.”
