“5-Year Hiatus” Chun Jung-myung Mentions Retirement “Scammed by My Manager of 16 Years”
On the December 8 episode of SBS’s “My Little Old Boy”, the show recorded a 2049 (viewers aged 20~49) viewership rating of 2.9%, while its metropolitan household rating reached 11.1%, securing its position as the top weekend variety show.
Actor Chun Jung-myung opened up about his current status. Known for his love of antique furniture, he was shown diligently cleaning pieces and carefully maintaining his collection of shoes. When Kim Hee-chul and Lee Sang-min visited his home, they marveled at his stylish interior and antique furnishings.
During their conversation, Kim Hee-chul asked why Chun Jung-myung hadn’t taken on any acting projects recently. Chun Jung-myung revealed, “The manager I worked with for 16 years defrauded me, leading to significant issues. Resolving those matters left me exhausted and even considering retirement.” He added, “I had to deal with tasks I didn’t want to handle, which wore me down. I lost weight just sitting still.” This emotional moment became the episode’s highlight, with a peak viewership rating of 13.8%.
When asked what he would say to the manager if they met again, Chun Jung-myung replied, “I’d ask, ‘Why did you do that to me back then?’” Lee Sang-min empathized, “After a while, even if someone who deceived you appears, you just feel numb.”
