“61st Baeksang Arts Awards” Nominees Revealed: IU, Kim Tae-ri and Jang Nara Face Fierce Competition

On April 7, the secretariat of the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards announced the nominees for the categories of broadcast, film and theater via its official website and SNS platforms. The nominees were selected through a fair and rigorous screening process.

Broadcast Category
To reflect shifting content consumption trends, the Baeksang Arts Awards has expanded its judging criteria from the traditional three major broadcasting stations to cable, general programming channels, OTT and web platforms. This year, the “TV category” has officially been renamed the “broadcast category” to further reflect those changes.





In the increasingly competitive Best Drama category, the nominated works are: tvN’s “Lovely Runner”, JTBC’s “The Tale of Lady Ok”, MBC’s “Doubt”, Netflix’s “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” and Netflix’s “When Life Gives You Tangerines”.
The most trending variety shows nominated for Best Variety Program include: tvN’s “Iron Girls”, Mnet’s “Stage Fighter”, Choo Sung-hoon’s “Ajossi’s Later Life”, DdeunDdeun’s “Punghyanggo” and Netflix’s “Culinary Class Wars”.

For Best Director, the nominees are: Kim Won-seok (When Life Gives You Tangerines, Netflix), Kim Hee-won (Light Shop, Disney+), Song Yeon-hwa (Doubt, MBC), Lee Do-yoon (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, Netflix) and Jung Ji-in (Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born, tvN).
The Best Screenplay nominees are: Kim Jung-min (Family Matters, Coupang Play), Park Ji-sook (The Tale of Lady Ok, JTBC), Lee Si-eun (Lovely Runner, tvN), Lim Sang-choon (When Life Gives You Tangerines, Netflix) and Choi Yoo-na (Good Partner, SBS).

Best Actor (TV): Park Bo-gum (When Life Gives You Tangerines, Netflix), Byeon Woo-seok (Lovely Runner, tvN), Lee Joon-hyuk (Dong Jae, the Good or the Bastard, TVING), Joo Ji-hoon (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, Netflix) and Han Suk-kyu (Doubt, MBC).

The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards will be held on May 5 at 8 PM KST at COEX D Hall in Gangnam, Seoul, and will be broadcast live on JTBC, JTBC2 and JTBC4.
