Their name combines South Korea’s international dialing code, 82, with “Major,” symbolizing their ambition to become a representative boy band of Korea.
Their fandom name, “82DE,” is a portmanteau of the word, ‘attitude,’ meaning to always be with a heartfelt attitude. It signifies always being together with a sincere attitude towards each other.

Career
Pre-debut
82MAJOR was originally introduced as RAREHOUSE, a trainee group under Great M Entertainment. The agency began revealing members through SNS from April 2022, with trainees like Nam Seong-mo, Park Seok-joon, Kim Do-gyun, and Cho Seong-il gradually introduced.
Some members, such as Hwang Seong-bin and Lee Dong-gun, participated in survival shows like “Show Me The Money 11” and “Boys Planet.” In early 2023, Cho Yeon-woo joined “Fantasy Boys,” hinting at his departure along with Dong-gun.
The group’s reality show “5 BROS” confirmed their lineup changes. On August 2, 2023, the group officially rebranded as 82MAJOR, later adding Yoon Ye-chan as a new member on September 21.
Activities After Debut
82Major announced their debut on September 22, 2023, with their debut set for October 11, 2023, alongside the release of a pre-release single “Sure Thing” on October 5, 2023.
In 2024, they prepared for their comeback with the announcement of their first mini album “Beat by 82,” slated for release on April 29, 2024. The group released their second digital single, “Choke (Sped Up)”, on May 6, 2024. On September 13, 2024, they dropped a teaser for their second mini album “X-82,” scheduled for release on October 15, 2024.
