The character GGD created by comedian Choi Ji-yong by imitating G-Dragon is being criticized
The content “The IMITATION Label” on comedian Kim Hae-joon’s YouTube channel recently faced criticism. In the new video uploaded on December 5th, the secondary character “GGD” played by comedian Choi Ji-yong, which gained attention as an imitation of G-Dragon, appeared again.
“GGD” Choi Ji-yong hugged “Taeyang-in”, the second character of comedian Kim Hae-joon as if they met each other after a long time. Taeyang-in greeted GGD, saying “I thought GG-Dragon had become a time traveler”. GGD then answered with more inaccurate pronunciations than usual and exaggerated speeches. In this scene, there was a caption, saying “My tongue is suddenly twisted since I’ve been traveling for a long time”.
In response to the video, netizens gave divided reactions. Some expressed appreciation for the reappearance of G-Dragon’s imitation character GGD during the time others were cautious of mentioning G-Dragon due to his ongoing drug investigation. However, many people expressed discomfort over the repeated imitation of G-Dragon.
As controversy arose, Kim Hae-joon switched the video to private.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon’s drug investigation is about to come to an end. Earlier, the police booked G-Dragon on drug charges based on the statement of A, a director of an entertainment establishment in Gangnam. However, G-Dragon firmly denied all drug allegations right after the investigation began. In fact, he also tested negative in all kinds of drug tests.
As a result, the travel ban on G-Dragon was also lifted. After the first police summons, G-Dragon made a post on his SNS with the caption, “Justice will prevail”, insisting on his innocence.
