Former T-ara member Areum announced the news of her divorce and remarriage at the same time
On December 10th, Areum posted on Instagram, “Someone I want to be with has appeared by my side. He’s so precious that I didn’t want to reveal, a person like that. After much consideration, I’ve decided to reveal confidently.”
She continued, “This person taught me what happiness is when I was worn down by many things. He’s the only person who ran to me when I was having a hard time even though he might have been harmed. I met a truly precious person whom I’m grateful for.”
Then, Areum revealed that she is currently in the process of divorcing the husband whom she married in 2019. Areum stated, “Before meeting the person I love, I lived in so much pain. It can’t be specified. There are many proofs I can show, but I won’t because he’s still my children’s father. I was in a divorced situation for a few years, but I haven’t been able to legally do it. I don’t think long words are needed. I don’t need to think about ugly things or stupid articles about that person. I only think of good things, and I will forget the things that hurt.”
Areum added, “I’m going to ride a train without a final stop to happiness. As soon as the lawsuit is over, we will register our marriage. I promised to marry him. I promised to achieve our dream together and establish the ‘Areum Foundation’ to help many children.”
Areum joined girl group T-ara in 2012. After marrying a businessman 2 years older than her in 2019, she gave birth to a son the following year. Last year, she shocked many by confessing the family discord, including her husband’s verbal abuse, on TVING’s original program “Between Marriage and Divorce”. At that time, on the show, the couple revealed their conflicts, expressing regret about their marriage, “Why did we get married?” and “There are times when it’s unbearable.”
Although it seemed like they were heading for divorce, they surprised everyone by unexpectedly revealing that they were expecting their second child. In December last year, Areum gave birth to her second son.
Last October, Areum participated in JTBC’s “Sing Again Season 3”, but unfortunately, she made a mistake during her performance and was eliminated.
