BLACKPINK Lisa keeps stacking up new achievements in her career
BLACKPINK’s Lisa recently hit a milestone of over 100 million followers on Instagram. This number speaks volumes – even though her reputation has been taking a hit in Chinese market, Lisa is still a global K-pop sensation.
This achievement not only makes her the first K-pop star but also the first Asian female artist to reach 100 million Instagram followers.
Even with the backlash from China due to her Crazy Horse show in Paris back in September, Lisa’s huge presence on social media has helped her maintain her position as a top idol in the industry.
Fans from around the world are celebrating Lisa’s achievement under her latest Instagram post, leaving messages like “Congratulations on hitting 100 million followers! Such a big achievement. Sending love from Bangladesh,” “My queen has officially reached 100 million followers,” and “100 million followers already, you’re a rockstar!”
Prior to this, in recognition of Lisa’s extraordinary influence, the Guinness World Records organization bestowed upon her the title of the Greatest K-pop Artist of 2023.
Throughout the year, Lisa secured eight Guinness World Records, making her the first solo Asian artist to achieve such a feat. These include winning at the MTV Video Music Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards, reaching 1 billion streams on Spotify with her solo album, being the fastest solo female K-pop artist to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify, breaking records for the most views on YouTube within 24 hours for her newly released MV, and having the most Instagram followers among K-pop artists.
Since renewing her contract with YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK hasn’t announced any upcoming group activities. Currently, Lisa is focusing on her solo schedules.
Lisa’s most recent public appearance was on December 19 when she returned to Thailand for the opening of Celine store at Siam Paragon in Bangkok. She turned heads with her vibrant makeup, trendy tousled hair, and a stylish leopard-print outfit.
There are also rumors that Lisa will be performing solo at the renowned French charity event Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes on January 26, 2024, alongside other big names like Stray Kids, Maroon 5, J Balvin, Pharrell Williams, and Gims.
