While tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama “Marry My Husband” continues to dominate both viewership ratings and public attention, Park Min-young’s excessive costumes, which had consistently been pointed out as a flaw, are now playing a role as a foreshadowing of refreshing revenge.
The character played by Park Min-young, Kang Ji-won, is someone who unfairly faced death due to cancer and betrayal by trusted individuals at the end of a tough life, but gets a chance to go back ten years and set everything right.
Kang Ji-won, who dramatically gains a second chance, realizes the importance of valuing herself and learning to love. Accordingly, Park Min-young, along with her confident attitude, invests a lot in herself externally as well.
However, in the initial episodes, the majority of viewers sympathized with the message of the drama but criticized Park Min-young’s costumes as excessively inappropriate for the occasion.
However, “Marry My Husband” managed to quell the controversy surrounding the excessive costumes by utilizing them as a foreshadowing of refreshing revenge
In Episode 9, Kang Ji-won, determined to ruin the meeting for marriage with “trash husband” Park Min-hwan (Lee Yi-kyung) and break up, appeared at the meeting venue with a drastic styling including intense smoky makeup, dangling earrings and a free-spirited costume.
Successfully intimidating at first glance with her costume, Kang Ji-won confidently provoked Kim Ja-ok (Jung Kyung-soon), Park Min-hwan’s mother, at the dining table, ultimately displaying a refreshing development by ruining the marriage.
In the upcoming episodes, the refreshing performance using costumes is expected to peak. In Episode 11, Kang Ji-won attending the wedding of Park Min-hwan and Jung Soo-min (Song Ha-yoon), dressed in a thunder stealer look, is anticipated. Kang Ji-won plans to attend the wedding wearing an all-white dress and give a proper lesson to the two people who ruined her first round of life.
