Kim Ji-won Unintentionally Dragged Into Kim Soo-hyun Controversy

Kim Ji-won Unintentionally Caught Up in Kim Soo-hyun’s Controversy Again During GaroSero’s Third Livestream

On March 12, the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute, broadcast another livestream revealing more details about Kim Soo Hyun and late Kim Sae Ron’s relationship. Besides the intimate photos and letters Kim Soo Hyun sent to Kim Sae Ron, Garo Sero also revealed that Kim Soo Hyun makes special nicknames for himself, Kim Sae Ron and Kim Ji Won. He called himself “YouTuber Kim Paris,” Kim Sae Ron “Sero-nero” and Kim Ji Won “Kim Support” (Jiwon means “support” in Korean).

Previously, on March 11, Garo Sero aired a 90-minute livestream exposing numerous allegations against Kim Soo-hyun. The livestream sent shockwaves through both domestic and international online communities. During the broadcast, messages and intimate photos allegedly involving Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were revealed, adding fuel to the controversy. However, the discussion took an unexpected turn when Kim Ji-won’s name was suddenly brought into the mix.

During the livestream, the hosts brought up an old article discussing Kim Soo-hyun’s rumored romantic links to three women, Kim Ji-won, Kim Sae-ron, and Lim Na-young (former member of IOI and PRISTIN). Seo Ye-ji, Kim Soo-hyun’s co-star in “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” was also mentioned during the discussion. However, due to her past manipulation scandal, the dating rumors involving her fizzled out on their own without gaining much traction.

What caught attention was the difference in his reactions – he swiftly denied dating Kim Sae-ron and Lim Na-young immediately but chose to stay silent about Kim Ji-won, his co-star in the hit drama “Queen of Tears.” This discrepancy has led netizens to speculate that his silence was intentional, allowing the dating rumors with Kim Ji-won to spread and benefit his career, as at that time, her name carried significant influence.Adding more fuel to the fire, Kim Sae-ron’s aunt unexpectedly spoke out, claiming that the dating rumors between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won had a lasting emotional impact on Kim Sae-ron. Especially since the time when Kim Sae-ron was most frequently mentioned coincided with the airing of “Queen of Tears.”

Adding more fuel to the fire, Kim Sae-ron’s aunt unexpectedly spoke out, claiming that the dating rumors between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won had a lasting emotional impact on Kim Sae-ron. Especially since the time when Kim Sae-ron was most frequently mentioned coincided with the airing of “Queen of Tears.”

“Honestly, we didn’t pay attention to those things (refers Kim Ji-won and Kim Soo-hyun’s dating rumors) or even watch TV because all we wanted was to protect our daughter. At that time, I wasn’t thinking about anything else – my only focus was on her. But in the end, she still got hurt, and she truly couldn’t say anything about it.”

The livestream quickly ignited a wave of backlash online, not against Kim Soo-hyun, but in defense of Kim Ji-won, who unexpectedly found herself caught in the middle of the controversy. Given that Queen of Tears aired years after Kim Sae-ron’s alleged breakup, some speculated whether the rumors truly had any impact on her at the time.

Just a year ago, Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won captivated audiences across Asia with their compelling performances in “Queen of Tears.” Their on-screen chemistry was so convincing that it led to persistent dating rumors, which neither party addressed directly. Even after the drama concluded, discussions about their potential romance remained strong, fueled further by Kim Soo-hyun’s recent remarks about Kim Ji-won at an awards show. As these events unfolded, public sentiment turned against Kim Soo-hyun, with many blaming him for allowing both actresses to become entangled in the scandal.
