Actor Ji Soo Announces Acting Comeback in the Philippines Following School Violence Controversy

Actor Ji Soo (real name Kim Ji Soo, 31), who had suspended her activities due to controversies surrounding school violence (‘학폭’), has announced her return to acting in the Philippines.
On the 4th, Ji Soo posted on her Instagram, “I’m happy to meet my best friend in a new country. ‘Rainbow’ will be exclusively released at SM Cinema starting October 9.” SM Cinema is a theater chain in the Philippines.

Recently, major Philippine broadcaster GMA Network reported, “Ji Soo will appear in the Philippine film ‘Rainbow’ alongside Alexa Ilacad and child star Lily Sophia. The film tells the story of a five-year-old girl named Rainbow, who lives with her aunt after her mother passes away. Ji Soo plays the role of Ji Sung, Rainbow’s absent father.”
In the photos Ji Soo shared, she is seen engaged in promotional activities with the cast in the Philippines. Notably, she wore a bright smile in an outfit from the globally renowned luxury brand L.
In another photo, where she exclaimed, “Doctor Kim! Let’s go all the way,” Ji Soo was also seen in an L jacket while participating in promotional events. She even showcased stills from ‘Rainbow’ featuring her in a doctor’s gown.

Earlier, on September 11th, Ji Soo posted several photos on his personal account along with the caption, “Let’s go! MUJIGAE October 9, 2024 an SM CINEMA exclusive.”
In the photos, Ji Soo can be seen smiling brightly as he poses affectionately with a child actor. Another photo shows him on set, fully immersed in filming, which particularly caught the attention of fans.
Back in 2021, Ji Soo faced allegations of school bullying. The accuser claimed that Ji Soo had slapped them for no reason and had forced them to take an exam on his behalf. At the time, Ji Soo was starring as the lead in KBS2’s “River Where the Moon Rises”, but he ultimately stepped down from the role amid the growing controversy.
