On October 29th, Choi Hee-jin’s agency, Saram Entertainment announced, “Choi Hee-jin will be appearing in MBC’s new drama ‘Motel California’ as Yoon Nan-woo.”
“Motel California” is a first-love remodeling romance drama that follows the female protagonist, who was born and raised in a countryside motel, as she reunites with her first love in her hometown that she fled 12 years ago. Following the confirmed casting of Lee Se-young and Na In-woo as Ji Gang-hee and Cheon Yeon-soo respectively, Choi Hee-jin’s addition to the main cast has further heightened expectations for the show.

In the drama, Choi Hee-jin will portray Yoon Nan-woo, a veterinarian who chose her profession due to her genuine love and care for animals. Her character works alongside her university senior Cheon Yeon-soo (played by Na In-woo) as a veterinarian, and subsequently becomes entangled in an unexpected scandal with him, promising to bring a unique presence to the story.
Throughout her career, Choi Hee-jin has consistently built her own filmography through various works including Disney+’s original series “The Impossible Heir,” dramas “Strong Girl Nam-soon” and “Behind Your Touch,” as well as films “The Girl on a Bulldozer,” “Good Deal,” and “Next Door.”
“Motel California” is scheduled to air in the first half of next year.
