On November 29, ADOR, a HYBE-affiliated label, disclosed its response to the certified letter sent by NewJeans, including an email from the CEO, Ju Young Kim, addressed to the members.

In the email, Kim wrote, “Over the past two weeks since receiving your letter, I’ve hoped to meet with you in person at least once, but ultimately, I am left expressing my thoughts through this email, which leaves me with a heavy heart.”

She noted that the ADOR team has been deeply affected, stating, “For the past 14 days, our staff have been grappling with despair and sadness.”

Kim explained, “As NewJeans is our only artist, some team members felt anxious. However, we have carefully reviewed your requests and worked diligently to address the issues raised in your letter.”

She admitted that certain matters were beyond ADOR’s control or required more time than the 14 days allotted but emphasized, “We collaborated with other companies and made every effort to do what was possible within the given time.”

Kim shared that ADOR has been preparing for NewJeans’ future activities, including plans for their next album, stating, “Although we were disappointed when Min Hee-jin informed us a week ago that she couldn’t continue working with ADOR or NewJeans, we remain hopeful and proactive. In the short time since, we have reviewed various global producer lineups to maximize the members’ potential, and we’re heading in a positive direction.”

She added, “If Min Hee-jin changes her mind and returns as NewJeans’ producer, that would be ideal. Our staff has created a comprehensive plan for next year’s activities, and I truly believe that if the members participate, they’ll produce heartfelt and distinctive music that reflects their individuality.”

Kim also addressed NewJeans’ fears of being neglected by ADOR, saying,“One of the most surprising parts of your letter was the concern that we might leave you without any plans. However, HYBE CEO Lee Jae-sang has assured us that if the members are willing, HYBE will fully support them with its global network and resources.”

Kim revealed that the company had responded to NewJeans’ letter on November 28 and had sent their reply via express delivery. She explained, “I was occupied with meetings and couldn’t attach the response to an email before hearing about your press conference at 8:30 PM. I hope our response clears up any misunderstandings.”

Finally, Kim concluded with an invitation, writing, “If possible, I’d like to meet you in person for a conversation. While attending your schedule in Japan, please take time to think things over and let us know. I will carefully listen to everything you have to say at the press conference.”

Meanwhile, previously on the evening of November 28, NewJeans held a press conference to declare that they would terminate their exclusive contract with ADOR as of midnight on November 29.

Here, the group cited unmet demands for improvements as the reason for their departure and expressed a desire to continue working with former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin.
