On December 18, ADOR stated, “All accounts outside of the official SNS established by ADOR were created without prior agreement as stipulated in the exclusive contract. Advertisers and other third parties have raised inquiries and complaints regarding these accounts and their content.”
NewJeans launched a new Instagram account named “jeanzforfree” on December 14. Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin liked the account’s first post.
The members said, “(This account) is really us. We’ll meet here more often.”
The group has maintained that their exclusive contract with ADOR was terminated on November 29.
However, ADOR disputed this claim, asserting that the exclusive contract remains valid, and filed a lawsuit to confirm its validity.
ADOR further explained, “Independent entertainment activities conducted through these accounts could lead to legal issues, and we have communicated our concerns to the artists and their legal guardians (the members’ parents).”
The agency added, “NewJeans already has dedicated platforms for fan communication, such as Phoning, as well as official SNS accounts on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). We hope the members will continue to communicate with fans through the official channels as they have before.”
On the “jeanzforfree” Instagram account, NewJeans shared photos from their recent Vogue Korea shoot. Interestingly, the team name “NewJeans” was absent from the feature, with only the members’ names listed. Former CEO Min Hee-jin served as the creative director for this photoshoot.
NewJeans is scheduled to attend the first day of the Golden Disc Awards, taking place in Fukuoka, Japan on January 4~5.
