ADOR’s CEO Begged for Another Chance with NewJeans, How Did the Members React?

On the morning of March 7, at 10:30 AM, the 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court convened the first hearing concerning ADOR’s request for an injunction to uphold its management rights over NewJeans and prevent the members from entering into independent advertising contracts.
That day, both the NewJeans members and CEO Kim Ju-young appeared in court, with the members stepping out of a white van around 10:00 AM, dressed in black suits as they made their way into the courtroom.

During the proceedings, CEO Kim Ju-young tearfully shared, “The reason for filing the injunction is simple. I want to be with the NewJeans members,” adding, “One of the staff members who handles NewJeans’ videos told me that while the members may not be aware of my presence, I see their faces and hear their voices every day while editing their videos. I constantly think about how I can better showcase their lovely sides.” Her voice faltered with emotion as she spoke.

Kim Ju-young then made an emotional plea, saying, “Please give me and the ADOR team a chance. We have worked with NewJeans in mind from the start.”
In response, the NewJeans members exchanged glances, silently communicating with one another. Some even appeared to struggle to hold back laughter.
As CEO Kim Ju-young’s emotional plea echoed in the courtroom, the NewJeans members’ reactions, filled with silent exchanges and suppressed laughter, left a stark contrast, highlighting the tension between the two sides in this ongoing legal battle.
