According to Star News, the upcoming broadcast of Mnet’s music program “M Countdown” on the afternoon of May 16 will feature aespa’s comeback stage with all 4 members—Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning.
Previously, a fire broke out at the pre-recording site, causing a commotion as artists and audience members evacuated. However, it has been confirmed that aespa had already completed filming their comeback stage. The fire occurred when sparks flew from a set corner while they were doing additional filming to enhance the stage’s completeness.

An “M Countdown” representative told Star News, “The initial fire was promptly detected and extinguished, and the artists and audience were immediately evacuated. No injuries have been reported from this incident.”
The representative added, “All sets on ‘M Countdown’ are treated with fire retardants, and we will meticulously re-inspect the maintenance to prevent similar issues from occurring.”
However, only three members, excluding Winter, will perform in the live broadcast. Winter recently underwent surgery for a pneumothorax and decided to rest after feeling unwell.
Meanwhile, aespa made their comeback on May 13 with the double title track “Supernova” from their first full-length album “Armageddon”.
aespa will release all songs from their first full-length album on May 27 at 6 PM (KST).
