After aespa’s Ningning got criticized for not recognizing a fan after, the female idol’s past controversies is being dug up,
Recently, aespa’s Ningning became a target for criticisms in China after a fan “unstanned” her for not recognizing them despite having met through 12 fancalls.
While fans of Ningning are actively defending the female idol for this accusation, past controversies of Ningning are being discussed again.
In particular, back in October 2022, Ningning, alongside fellow aespa members, attended the Paris Fashion Week. Here, one footage of Ningning covering her ear and allegedly “giving fans a cold shoulder” as she walked to the car drew attention, resulting in an “attitude controversy”.
However, fans explained that Ningning was covering her ears not because of fans, but to prevent her AirPods from falling off.
Later on, Ningning faced another controversy in China after a fan of hers announced their departure from the fandom, right after having a fancall with Ningning. The fan claimed that the fancall left her “disappointed” and “exhausted”, but never gave any specific details.
Additionally, in May 2023, aespa’s Karina appeared on the YouTube show “My Alcohol Diary” alongside the host Lee Young-ji. On the same day, Ningning revealed that while she also wanted to go to the show, the company didn’t allow her to. According to some people, Ningning shouldn’t have said this on the same day Karina’s episode aired, as this will cause a rift between fans of the members and fuel rumors of discrimination.
On top of this, on May 8, 2023, aespa returned with their mini album “My World” after an extremely long wait. On the same day, Ningning is known to have mentioned the line distribution of aespa’s new song, subtly expressing her disappointment by saying, “It’s always a problem, but it’s okay”.
This comment of Ningning prompted a lot of fans to attack SM Entertainment for “discrimination”, but Ningning actually has the 2nd most lines in the comeback, rousing confusion about her complaint.
Finally, Ningning is the least active member on the fan communication platforms Bubble and Weverse, adding to her alleged “attitude controversies”.
On the other hand, although these “controversies” are once again resurfacing, many are finding these to be nit-picking, even suspecting that anti-fans are simply taking advantage of the new allegation,
In fact, at the moment, the original poster who accused Ningning of not recognizing her after 12 fancalls have not provided the full evidence of actually attending these 12 fancalls, rousing suspicions.
