aespa’s Winter feels unwell due to fire on set of ‘M Countdown’ “Not participate in live broadcast”
According to the music industry, a fire broke out on the morning of May 16th at a filming studio within the CJ ENM Center in Sangam, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The accident was reportedly caused by a problem on the filming set.
In the studio, pre-recording for Mnet’s “M Countdown” was underway, and aespa was preparing to perform their new song “Supernova”.
The incident affected the members present, and Winter, who recently underwent pneumothorax surgery, reported feeling unwell.
Regarding this, SM Entertainment told OSEN on May 16th, “There was an issue with the stage set at today’s pre-recording for ‘M Countdown’, and afterward, Winter needed rest and stability due to her condition. Therefore, only Karina, Giselle and Ningning will attend today’s live broadcast of ‘M Countdown’. Winter’s participation in future activities will be decided based on her recovery status.”
Meanwhile, aespa released the double title track “Supernova” on May 13th and will unveil their first full-length album “Armageddon” on May 27th.
