Bolbbalgan4’s Ahn Ji-young Ends 10-Year Contract with Shofar Entertainment: “Trust and Follow Me Into This New Chapter”
Bolbbalgan4’s Ahn Ji-young has officially ended her decade-long journey with Shofar Entertainment, marking the close of an era and the beginning of a new solo chapter.
On March 31, the beloved singer-songwriter took to her Instagram story to personally announce the news, “Today, I share the news that my contract with Shofar Entertainment, which I’ve been with for 10 years, has ended.”
Reflecting on the past decade, Ahn Ji-young shared a message filled with pride and gratitude, “Because I gave my all every single day, I feel proud and lighthearted. Now, as I stand before a new beginning, I know fans may worry, but I ask you to trust and follow me.”
She added a warm message to her fans, affectionately known as LoBoly,* “I’m thrilled for this fresh start with our fandom, LoBoly. I’ll repay your support with great music, as promised.”*
Earlier the same day, Shofar Entertainment also confirmed the contract expiration in an official statement, “We announce that Bolbbalgan4’s exclusive contract, which began in 2015, concluded in March 2025. It was an honor to work with an artist who gifted the universe through irresistible music.”
Ahn Ji-young originally debuted as part of the duo Bolbbalgan4 after appearing on “Superstar K6” in 2014. The act rose to stardom with their 2016 “Half Album RED ICKLE” and viral hit “Galaxy,” followed by fan favorites like “Bom,” “Tell Me You Love Me” and “To My Youth.”
After Woo Ji-yoon departed from the group in April 2020, Ahn Ji-young chose to continue as Bolbbalgan4’s sole member, retaining the project’s identity and signature sound.
Now, with a new chapter ahead, fans are looking forward to what’s next, new music, new possibilities, and a renewed Ahn Ji-young who promises to keep shining, this time entirely on her own terms.
