Ailee and Choi Si-hoon Open Up About Rumors, Judgment, and Love Before Wedding
Ahead of their much-anticipated wedding, Ailee and Choi Si-hoon appeared together on the April 15 episode of tvN STORY’s Kcoshow 3, sharing heartfelt details about their relationship, and the burdens of going public.
Ailee and Choi Si-hoon Share Their Love Story on “Kcoshow 3”
Ailee recounted the day they met: “I was supposed to meet a friend, and they brought him along. The more we talked, the more I saw how kind and sincere he was.” Their bond quickly grew, with Ailee recalling a g.o.d concert where they sat together. “While clapping, our hands kept brushing, and I didn’t mind. Then he held my hand first.”
Their love blossomed from there, but it hasn’t been without hardship. Ailee admitted that online scrutiny has affected them deeply since their wedding announcement. “He’s working hard, but people say he’s unemployed. He has a job at a company, not just as an influencer. But people assume I’m doing everything alone, it’s so frustrating,” she said.
Choi Si-hoon, known from Single’s Inferno, added, “The rumors felt like they denied everything I’d worked for. I hated it. I didn’t want the spotlight anymore. Now it’s back, and I’m doing my best, but it’s painful.”
Rumors, Resilience, and a Bond That Stays Strong
Despite the hurt, the couple faces it all together, with love and humor. Ailee explained, “He always tells me not to spend money, he does everything for me. But he’s afraid of what people might say.” Hwang Je-sung joked, “So… were you the one leaving hate comments?” drawing laughter.
Choi added, “She tells me not to read comments, but she reads them out loud. I still hear them.” Ailee chimed in, “I check first so I can be the one to comfort him.”
But things turned emotional when Choi confessed how he handles the negativity. “Eventually, you go numb. I sit in a room, expressionless, trying to manage my emotions.” Ailee, holding back tears, said, “If he hadn’t met me, maybe he wouldn’t be suffering like this. I feel so sorry. But I’m so grateful he still chose me.”
Ailee and Choi Si-hoon officially registered their marriage in August 2024 and now live together in their newlywed home. Despite the public pressure, the couple is facing it all with sincerity, and with each other.
