According to multiple music industry insiders on March 27, a group of Moonbin’s dearest friends and colleagues from the entertainment industry have come together to create a memorial track that reflects their enduring love and grief.
Participants include ASTRO members Cha Eun-woo, MJ, JinJin, and Yoon San-ha, who were not only his groupmates but also like family. Moonbin’s younger sister, Moon Sua of girl group Billlie, has also joined the project, adding an especially emotional layer to the tribute.
In addition, longtime friends from the ’98-liner circle such as SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan and DK, and VIVIZ’s SinB, along with other colleagues who shared close bonds with Moonbin during his lifetime, have contributed their voices and hearts to the song.
Previously, one particularly touching moment that continues to resonate with fans came from Woozi, who on April 25, 2023, left a heartfelt message on Moonbin’s final Instagram post. In his comment, Woozi revealed that Moonbin had always asked him about a yet-to-be-released solo track titled “What Kind of Future.” The song held deep personal meaning for Woozi, and Moonbin, ever supportive, repeatedly encouraged its release. Woozi promised that day, “I’ll release this song on your birthday – as a gift.”
Moonbin, a cherished member of ASTRO, passed away on April 19, 2023, leaving a deep impact on fans and peers alike. Since then, tributes and commemorations have continued worldwide, highlighting the warmth and light he brought into the K-pop community.
