BABYMONSTER Smoothly Handled Stage Issue By Singing BLACKPINK’s Hit Without Music

On the evening of May 11th, the 7-member girl group BABYMONSTER from YG Entertainment held their first fanmeeting in Japan, marking the beginning of their fancon tour in Asia. On their first overseas schedule after re-debut, BABYMONSTER presented various live stages of their songs, spent time communicating with fans, and did cover of hit songs by senior girl groups.
While doing a mashup dance of 2NE1 and BLACKPINK’s songs at their first fanmeeting, the members faced a sudden accident. The video capturing this scene became viral on social media because of the way the members solved the issue so smoothly.
In particular, while dancing to BLACKPINK’s “As If It’s Your Last”, the music suddenly stopped twice during the chorus. However, the members immediately found a way to solve the issue. They sang the song live without music and completed the performance calmly. This once again proved the outstanding live singing skills of the YG girl group.
Listening to BABYMONSTER singing “As If It’s Your Last”, many people recalled the debut days of BLACKPINK. As the video spread, netizens poured compliments on the members and their talents. The majority pointed out that only YG idols could cover YG songs.

Ever since their re-debut after Ahyeon joined the team, BABYMONSTER has continuously amazed the public with their stable singing and performing skills. Especially, the rapper line, including Ahyeon, Ruka and Asa, gained many good reviews for their professional stage presence. Showcasing their skills, BABYMONSTER successfully climbed up on charts and entered Melon TOP 10 with the song “SHEESH”, which was said to be a hard-listening song when it was released.
With proper promotion, BABYMONSTER is finally getting the attention they deserve and the group is expected to grow even more in the future.
