BABYMONSTER Shocked by Stage Collapse at Concert, Ahyeon Praised for Heroic Reaction

Recently, YG Entertainment, the agency of girl group BABYMONSTER, has issued a statement regarding the stage collapse incident that occurred at the group’s concert in Taiwan. In particular, YG told media outlet MHN, “There was a malfunction in the lift, but we took immediate action on site,” adding that there were no particular injuries.
Meanwhile, previously on June 28, YG girl group BABYMONSTER, dubbed the “little sisters of BLACKPINK,” experienced a terrifying incident during the first night of their “HELLO MONSTER” concert in Taiwan. In particular, a partial stage collapse that left both the group and fans in shock.
The incident occurred mid-performance as the members stood on an elevated lift platform. Without warning, one side of the stage gave way, causing Rora to stumble and lose her balance. The other 5 members were visibly alarmed, immediately crouching down and carefully exiting the area one by one toward the backstage for safety.
Fan-captured footage of the moment quickly went viral across social media, with many expressing heartbreak and concern over the unexpected accident. Fortunately, since only half of the platform collapsed, none of the members sustained serious injuries.
Amid the chaos, Ahyeon stood out for her commendable composure and leadership. Despite being in a position where she could have safely retreated to the main stage, Ahyeon instead chose to remain on the unstable lift to support and protect the other members. Observers noted that she allowed everyone else to evacuate first and only left once all her teammates were safe, an act many fans described as “leader-like”.
“Ahyeon’s reaction deserves a 10 out of 10,” one netizen wrote, while others praised her maturity and courage, calling her actions “the spirit of a true idol.”

At the same time, the incident has reignited concerns about BABYMONSTER‘s grueling schedule. Since launching their world tour in late January 2025, the group has performed across multiple countries, while member Rami has temporarily stepped back from the tour due to health issues. Similar concerns were raised about Chiquita and Asa, who showed signs of fatigue and stress.
Fans are now calling on YG Entertainment to improve safety protocols and provide better care for their young artists. While the construction company responsible for the faulty stage bears much of the blame, supporters insist that YG must take more proactive steps to protect its performers from dangerous situations.
