Rare Photos of Barbie Hsu’s Daughter Go Viral, Netizens Say “A Future Star in the Making?”
For the first time since the passing of Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, fans are getting a rare glimpse at her daughter, Wang Hsi-Yueh, now 11 years old. The candid moment occurred during a recent outing in Beijing, where she was spotted shopping with her stepmother, Chinese influencer Mandy.
On April 22, Chinese media outlet 163.com shared photos captured by bystanders showing Mandy and Hsi-Yueh out together, unmasked and visibly relaxed. The images immediately went viral, as they offered the first clear look at Barbie Hsu’s daughter since the family’s relocation to mainland China.
The young girl, who is now nearly as tall as Mandy, captivated netizens with her delicate, graceful features, sparking praise for how closely she resembles her late mother.
Barbie Hsu‘s children Hsi-Yueh and Hsi-Lin were placed under the care of their father, Wang Xiaofei, following Barbie’s death in Japan earlier this year. The children now reside in Beijing with Wang and Mandy, who is said to be gentle and attentive to her stepchildren. Mandy reportedly makes a conscious effort to help Hsi-Yueh, known for her sensitive and introverted personality, feel safe and supported.
Sources say that after Barbie’s passing, Hsi-Yueh experienced a period of grief and emotional distress, often crying so much that her eyes became visibly swollen. Since moving in with her father and stepmother, her life appears to have stabilized. Wang Xiaofei and Mandy are also reportedly preparing for their wedding, set to take place in mid-May in Beijing.
Meanwhile, Barbie Hsu’s ashes were laid to rest on March 15 at Riguang Garden in Jinshan, Taiwan. Her children were reportedly absent from the ceremony, which took place under heavy rain—a somber farewell to one of the brightest stars in East Asian entertainment.
