Brave Girls’s Minyoung Addresses Rift Rumors After Yujeong’s Departure: What’s Going On?

Minyoung of BBGIRLS (formerly Brave Girls) is speaking out to address ongoing speculation about the group’s internal dynamics following Yujeong’s departure. In a candid interview released on June 16 via the YouTube channel One Mic, Minyoung opened up about the group’s reformation and her personal journey.
BBGIRLS re-debuted in 2023 under a new agency after parting ways with Brave Entertainment, with Yujeong leaving later that year. Since then, the group has continued as a trio.

Responding to rumors of discord, Minyoung clarified the circumstances surrounding a trip the remaining members took to Bohol shortly after Yujeong’s exit. “Some people misunderstood the timing, thinking it meant there was tension, but internally, we had already processed everything. We just weren’t in a position to speak publicly about it at the time,” she explained. The trip, she emphasized, had been planned well in advance.
She acknowledged that Yujeong’s departure came as a shock. “I asked, ‘Why? We don’t have any issues.’ But after 10 years together, it’s understandable that we each had different thoughts,” Minyoung shared, adding that the group ultimately chose to respect and support Yujeong’s decision.

Minyoung also addressed unrelated rumors that she had left the entertainment world to become a café owner. “Even back then, I said I planned to continue as a singer,” she stated. She went on to describe her short-lived experience running a café, which required earning a barista certificate and managing difficult operating costs. “I barely made any profit. Running a business is incredibly hard. I truly respect small business owners,” she said.
Looking ahead, Minyoung reaffirmed the group’s mission: “As BBGIRLS, we don’t have a mindset of proving ourselves for our own sake. We know we’re a group that was given a second chance by the public, and we want to live up to those expectations.”
With sincerity and determination, Minyoung made it clear: BBGIRLS is here to stay, no matter the obstacles.
