As BLACKPINK prepares to return to the stage in July 2025 with all 4 members for the first time since the “BORN PINK” World Tour concluded in September 2023, fans were eagerly awaiting ticket details. However, once YG Entertainment officially revealed ticket prices for the group’s Seoul shows, the internet quickly lit up with debate.

“Overpriced Tickets” Controversy

According to YG, ticket prices for the BLACKPINK World Tour 2025 in Seoul range from 132,000 KRW to 275,000 KRW (approx. $95 to $200 USD). While international fans consider this price “affordable,” many Korean netizens felt otherwise.

On Korean forums like theqoo and SNS platforms like Twitter/X, netizens criticized the pricing as “ridiculous” and “unrealistic,” accusing YG of exploiting fans and leaving comments such as, “That’s an outrageous price, what are they thinking?”. Additionally, others pointed out that concert tickets for IU and G-Dragon ranged from 90,000–150,000 KRW, making BLACKPINK’s tickets seem disproportionately high by comparison.

At the same time, many insisted that BLACKPINK’s ticket prices are actually on par with international artists, defending the girl group. Additionally, fans have voiced a completely different concern: they’re worried about not being able to buy tickets at all.  They also mostly lamented that BLACKPINK is already preparing for a world tour despite having released no new music as a group.

Low Sales Rumors

Meanwhile, further fueling the fire were screenshots circulating on social media suggesting BLACKPINK was struggling to sell tickets for their August 2025 concerts at Wembley Stadium in London, a venue that can accommodate 90,000 people. Claims were made that only around 21,000 tickets had been sold.

However, fans quickly debunked these numbers with facts. Particularly, according to data from Kpop Touring, the August 15 concert at Wembley has sold 98.69% of available tickets—roughly over 70,000 seats—making it a record-breaking achievement for a K-pop girl group in Europe. It’s also worth noting that the event spans two days, and there’s still four months left before the shows.

It seems that despite social media uproar, BLACKPINK’s ticket sales remain strong, and the high prices haven’t stopped massive demand.
