In her new role as the CEO of her own label, Jennie’s latest solo gigs are not recording impressive results
On March 10, Osen reported that the reality show “Apartment 404,” featuring stars like BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Cha Tae Hyun, and Yoo Jae Suk, is facing a rating crisis. The show’s ratings are steadily declining, with no sign of improvement.
Starting off with a modest 2.7% rating, by the third episode, it plummeted to just 1.7%. The show is being criticized for its outdated format, failing to appeal to viewers.
“Apartment 404” marks Jennie’s first regular appearance on an entertainment show since establishing her own label, ODDATELIER, last December. Sadly, the show may be canceled due to consistently poor ratings.
Many viewers have candidly pointed out the reasons why “Apartment 404” isn’t drawing in a larger audience: “The show is just too bland”, “The spy games, identity recognition, I’ve seen them all before. There’s nothing new or exciting anymore”, “The format is too outdated, no longer keeping up with today’s entertainment trends. Initially, I was intrigued because of the cast, but I decided to stop watching the show right after the first episode”, “It’s a common struggle for TV networks. Nowadays, viewers have so many entertainment options. Even tvN is having a hard time attracting viewers for its shows.”
In reality, “Apartment 404” has been a topic of discussion about its content ever since its first episode aired two weeks ago. At that time, the show was accused of copying many famous shows, and “Moving” star Lee Jung Ha also faced mixed reactions for lacking chemistry with the other cast members.
Even Jennie’s latest song, “Slow Motion,” in collaboration with Matt Champion, hasn’t met expectations. Despite Jennie having 35 million monthly listeners on Spotify, her new song managed only 150k streams on the chart.
“Slow Motion” didn’t make it to the Top 200 Global Spotify Chart. “Slow Motion” total chart streams are deemed underwhelming with only 151,780 streams:
- Thailand: 82,596 streams
- Vietnam: 34,070 streams
- Taiwan: 15,677 streams
- South Korea: 7,697 streams
- Hong Kong: 7,423 streams
- Saudi Arabia: 4,348 streams
