BLACKPINK’s Jennie to Drop Solo Album on March 7 – Collab with 6 Artists

According to ODDATELIER on January 22nd (KST), BLACKPINK’s Jennie will unveil her debut solo album, “Ruby”, on March 7. The album consists of 15 tracks, including the pre-released singles “Mantra” and “ZEN,” as well as “Love Hangover (feat. Dominic Fike)” and “ExtraL (feat. Doechii),” showcasing Jennie’s boundless musical potential.

Notably, “Ruby” features collaborations with world-renowned artists such as American actor Childish Gambino, American rapper-singer Doechii, American singer-songwriter and rapper Dominic Fike, Albanian singer and songwriter Dua Lipa, FKJ, and as well as American singer-songwriter Kali Uchis, ready to astonish the global music scene once again.

So far, Jennie has dropped a teaser for the upcoming album, showcasing an extremely intriguing look with long red hair – fitting of the album’s title “Ruby”. Fans have since speculated that “Ruby” here may be taken from Jennie’s English name “Jennie Ruby Jane”, and the album will thus reflect Jennie’s self. 

Meanwhile, with her single “Mantra”, Jennie topped the iTunes’ Top Songs charts in 47 countries, including the United States, Brazil, Singapore, the Philippines, and Mexico. The track also spent two consecutive weeks on Billboard’s main singles chart, the Hot 100. Additionally, she became the first female K-pop solo artist to claim the number one spot on the U.S. iTunes’ Top Songs chart, creating a worldwide sensation.

In the lead-up to her comeback, Jennie has been rolling out bold promotional strategies. Alongside the music video for “ZEN,” she has pre-released the tracks “Love Hangover (feat. Dominic Fike)” and “ExtraL (feat. Doechii),” offering a glimpse into her musical style. Particularly, “ExtraL” is set for release on February 21 at 2 PM KST, heightening anticipation for Jennie and Doechii’s collaboration.

As Jennie’s comeback news has already garnered immense attention from fans globally, expectations are high for the music and performances she will deliver through “Ruby”.  

Jennie is also scheduled to perform as a solo artist at the famous music festival Coachella on April 13 and 20 (local time). 

Meanwhile, to celebrate the release of “Ruby,” Jennie will hold “The Ruby Experience” showcase in Los Angeles, New York, and Seoul. The event will kick off at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on March 6–7, followed by Radio City Music Hall in New York on March 10, and Inspire Arena in Seoul on March 15.
