BLACKPINK’s Jisoo & Park Jung-min Reveal Secret Amusement Park Date for “Newtopia”

On January 23, the YouTube channel “Studio Chika Chika” released a video titled “Jisoo, Park Jung-min, and Su-ji in a Thrilling(?) Love Triangle” on its “Impersonation Queen” series.

The lead couple of the Coupang Play series “Newtopia,” Park Jung-min and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, made an appearance. Park Jung-min started by praising Jisoo, saying, “Jisoo is is such a great person in many ways.” He added, “The director likes to have a script reading session. But as an actor, I don’t… Honestly, I don’t want to do it. I’m just lazy. But Jisoo goes there four to five times a week and enjoys her time there. I really look up to her.”

Park Jung-min went on to say, “In the drama, there are lots of scene where Jisoo has to fight the zombies alone. It’s a tough role, but she’s always smiling. She must be tired, but she doesn’t show it, because she’s the heroine. She gives people positive energy. She’s very inspiring. I really respect her for that.”

Park Jung-min also shared an anecdote about a prop photo shoot for “Newtopia.” He said, “In the beginning part of the filming, We went to take a photo with the director in Seoul, going around places like Gyeongbokgung Palace. While taking a couple photo, the director said, ‘Can’t you two just meet up and take a photo?’”

The two continued, “So, we went to Lotte World together.” Park Jung-min said, “People were going to recognize Jisoo. So I was like ‘Let us go take a picture where there is no one!’. When we took a photo, you could not know if we were at Lotte World.” Jisoo laughed as she recalled, “When I saw the photo, I thought, ‘What kind of couple covers their face like this and takes a photo?'” When Lee Su-ji commented, “It must have been fun though,” both Jisoo and Park Jung-min said, “Looking back now, it was. It’s a great memory.”

Meanwhile, the Coupang Play series “Newtopia” is set to premiere at 8 PM on February 7.
