From explosive stage charisma to daring fashion and a bold solo identity, BLACKPINK’s Lisa is known for fearlessly breaking boundaries. Yet even this globally celebrated star has a soft, shy side—and it surfaced when she met the pop icon she had admired since her teenage years: Justin Bieber.

Particularly, in a recent interview with media outlet “The Guardian”, Lisa opened up about her childhood obsession with the “Baby” hitmaker, saying, “Everyone knows the lyrics to ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber and Ludacris, don’t they? I think everyone was a Bieber fan when they were young.”

According to Lisa, despite reaching global superstardom herself, when she finally met Justin a few years ago, she was too nervous to say more than a polite greeting, sharing, “I met him a few years ago, but just for a quick hi. I didn’t tell him how much I loved him because I’m too shy.”

With Lisa now collaborating with artists like Future, Rosalía, Tyla, and Doja Cat, fans are eager to manifest a dream collaboration between her and Justin Bieber—especially as Justin is rumored to be preparing for a music comeback after a hiatus marked by health issues and fatherhood. “They’ve both evolved so much. It would be a full-circle moment for Lisa!” one fan commented.

Meanwhile, in the same interview, Lisa also revealed that she has been a fan of BIGBANG before she even arrived to Korea to become a trainee. According to the BLACKPINK member, the first album she ever bought was a solo one released by Taeyang. A few years ago, Lisa was just a dancer in BIGBANG’s “Good Boy” MV, but in 2023, her “fangirl” dream came true when she featured on Taeyang’s track “Shoong!”.

Another pivotal moment in Lisa’s journey? Her audition song. She shared that she chose “Ice Cream Freeze (Let’s Chill)” by Hannah Montana (aka Miley Cyrus) when auditioning for YG in Thailand. “There were about 1,000 people auditioning. I never thought I’d get in. But that song matched my vibe—it was fun and easy to dance to”, the female idol said.

Then, when asked about a song she can no longer listen to, Lisa picked BLACKPINK’s “Boombayah”, stating, “Not because of the song, it’s just that the dance moves are really aggressive. There’s a lot of whipping your head, so it’s really intense to perform.”
