BLACKPINK’s Lisa Dispels “Couple Watch” Rumors, Wants to Keep Relationship Private?

On March 4 (local time), US magazine The Wall Street Journal (hereinafter referred to as WSJ) published their interview with BLACKPINK’s Lisa, where the female idol discussed various topics related to her career and life. 

In particular, Lisa mentioned the initial difficulty when she started out as a soloist, saying that she’s a “shy girl inside”, and the fact that each BLACKPINK member has their own position in the group made her initially scared to strike out on her own. However, Lisa was able to overcome this initial fear by telling herself, “If I don’t do it (go solo) now, when am I going to do it?”

Then, when talking about her acting debut with the role of hotel employee Mook in “The White Lotus” Season 3, Lisa described this character as someone sweet but “very ambitious”. “This character knows what she wants, and knows what to say to people to make them do what she wants,” the female idol also said, before adding that she could relate to Mook’s big dreams.

Additionally, the interview also ventured to the topic of Lisa’s alleged relationship with the LVMH heir Frédéric Arnault. Specifically, the photo of Lisa wearing the “Lisa” watch she designed with Bulgari was brought up, and when asked if the other wrist wearing the same watch in the photo belonged to Arnault, Lisa laughed and exclaimed, “That’s my mom!”, clarify that it was a watch designed for women. 

Lisa also mentioned how she doesn’t want to talk about her relationship with the interviewer, saying, “I just want to keep it private. I want to have a normal life as well. You just don’t want everybody to know everything about you. I don’t think I have to share too much to the world”.

According to Lisa, there are various sides of herself that fans haven’t got to know, and her album, “Alter Ego”, actually examines some of them. Lisa shared that she thinks of these “identities” as outfits she’d don in the morning, with changed appearance and perhaps feeling, but the person itself remains the same. “It’s just me”, she stated, alluding to her album.

Finally, when talking about BLACKPINK’s world tour in 2025, Lisa shared she’s “so ready”, before adding that all 4 members are talking about coordinating their schedules.
