In a recent interview with “PAPER Magazine”, BLACKPINK’s Rosé offered a candid look into her upcoming solo album, “rosie”, revealing that the songs will explore darker, intense themes related to toxic relationships and emotional struggles.
Rosé shared that the album’s lyrics reflect personal experiences, including missed red flags and emotional lows, making the songs deeply relatable. She hopes listeners will see themselves in her music and connect with the honesty of her storytelling. Rosé explained, “I think I’m grateful enough to have gone through a few relationships, you know, like a normal girl in her 20s. I want people to understand that I’m not much different from your average girlfriend, or 23-year-old girl.”

Rosé believes that listeners may find comfort in her music, whether they’ve experienced struggles in friendships, family, or even professional relationships. She emphasized, “It doesn’t even have to be about a boyfriend, just any type of toxic relationship.”
Additionally, Rosé talked about capturing the complex emotions of being in one’s twenties, “Your 20s is not an easy time to live through. It’s when you’re very vulnerable and confused, excited and angry about life. That’s what I wanted to sing about,” she shared, hoping that her music will resonate with young listeners experiencing the highs and lows of this turbulent decade.
With this album, Rosé invites fans to explore the raw emotions and challenges that come with personal growth and self-discovery, making her work not only a musical journey but a shared experience for those navigating similar life stages.
