Previously on November 23 (local time), the US news outlet New York Times published an interview with BLACKPINK’s Rosé.
Here, the female idol recalled her experience as a trainee, stating that she would wake up at 9:30 AM and practice until 2 AM, and there were many days when she would stay after all those hours to practice further because she wanted to have the practice room to herself.
According to Rosé, content about the trainee life in Korea was “a bit glamorized”.

“It looked really like everyone was chasing their dreams and working so hard, but I didn’t understand the lonely part. The loneliness that I would have to go through — that was a bit traumatizing. A bit shocking. But, you know, I survived it”, the female idol added.
Rosé also revealed her struggles as an idol, sharing that K-pop idols are always trained to express themselves in the most perfect way, to the point she would try to give fans “perfect answers” that suit what the fan wanted, even while interacting online.
However, according to the female idol, K-pop idols weren’t trained to talk about their emotions, feelings, and experiences.
When asked about anti-fans, Rosé shed tears.
“I don’t want to get emotional about it, because I would say I’m pretty strong-minded. Like, I am very positive, and I like to be smart about how things affect me,” she stated, adding, “But when it actually did get to me, it felt pretty, pretty bad.”
“I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I am going through this.” I never thought I would. I would see things online, and I’d always think, I wonder why they let that get to them? When it did, I was shocked”, she also said.

Finally, Rosé mentioned that K-pop agencies have strict rules regarding idol dating and gave her own two cents regarding the practice.
“Yeah, it was not normal. It isn’t normal. But also it’s just not normal for me too. I had never really spoken about it too, because I feel like there’s no need for me to ever confirm anything or talk about it”, she said.
On the other hand, Rosé has recently gained worldwide popularity by releasing the song “APT.”, a collaboration with famous pop star Bruno Mars. Her solo album “Rosie”, which includes”APT.”, will be released on the 6th of next month.
