On October 31, 2024, Rosé submitted a request to terminate her trust agreement with KOMCA. After a three-month grace period, the contract was officially concluded on January 31, 2025.

She is the first artist to leave KOMCA since Seo Taiji, who, in 2002, became the first Korean singer to opt out of renewing his trust contract with the association.

Moving forward, all of Rosé’s copyrights will be managed by a U.S.-based publisher, with revenue distribution handled through her current label Atlantic Records.

Atlantic Records collaborates with U.S. copyright organizations such as ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) and BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.), overseeing her global copyright earnings under a unified system.

This approach aligns with the industry standard for international artists. Given Rosé’s extensive activities in the U.S., this transition is expected to provide a more efficient copyright management structure.

An industry insider explained, “For Rosé, managing copyrights separately in the U.S. and Korea would be unnecessary since it would result in double administrative fees.”

Currently, Rosé is one of the hottest solo artists in the U.S. Her collaboration with pop star Bruno Mars on “APT.” has taken the world by storm.

Additionally, her first full-length album “Rosie”, released in December 2024, has been widely recognized for showcasing her musical capabilities. She participated as a lyricist for all tracks and was credited as a composer for “APT.” and “Number One Girl”.
