Recently, BLACKPINK’s Rosé participated in a “Lie Detector” interview session with Vanity Fair.

Here, the female idol denied rumors of Jaden Smith being the toxic ex that inspired her song “toxic till the end”, adding that the male celebrity is a good friend.

Additionally, Rosé mentioned getting matchmade by her friends, which has gone well, and discussed how she watches fanedits and reads fanfics about herself.

However, one question from this interview section, which somewhat flustered Rosé, has raised the eyebrows of many fans.

In particular, this question referred to a remark of American producer and songwriter Benny Blanco, who recently got engaged to Selena Gomez. Benny apparently mentioned meeting BLACKPINK and referred to them as his idols, so Rosé was asked in return if he was her “idol”.

Hearing this, Rosé wore an expression of confusion and hesitated, before answering “Yes”, only for the lie detector to reveal this was a lie.

Rosé then explained that Benny was a nice guy, but “idol” was a big word, hence her real answer – “No”.

However, fans who saw the question drowned Vanity Fair in criticisms, wondering why Benny Blanco is mentioned in the first place, when Rosé never collaborated with him.

“Why would they even ask her that”, a fan asked, while another remarked, “Did they run out of questions? Why him out of all artists?”
