“Bloody Game 3” Heo Seong-beom “G-Dragon’s Appointment as KAIST Professor? Divided Opinions Within”

Airing on Wednesday, Feb 26th, MBC’s “Radio Star” featured a special episode titled “Survival People, Bloody Players” with guests Jang Dong-min, Hong Jin-ho, Pani Bottle and Heo Seong-beom.
Heo Seong-beom, known as KAIST’s New Face, first gained attention as a model, capturing the hearts of many. He studied in the Computer Science Department and is now pursuing a graduate degree in Artificial Intelligence (AI). He recently gained further recognition through the survival show “Bloody Game 3”, where he was nicknamed Jang Dong-min’s Calculator.

Heo Seong-beom participated as a panelist at the talk concert held during G-Dragon’s appointment as a visiting professor at KAIST and shared a personal anecdote about dining with him before the appointment ceremony.
He recalled the experience, “In a private setting, he was incredibly humble. I was touched when I told him ‘Your styling is amazing’ and he replied, ‘Seong-beom, your shoes are cool too.’ He was so warm and kind. It felt great to be acknowledged by a fashion icon.”
He also addressed the internal debates within KAIST regarding G-Dragon’s appointment as a professor.
“After actually meeting him, I realized he has a great interest in science and technology and asked a lot of questions. People often think scientists can be rigid, but science needs investment and attention from both academia and industry. Research requires funding, and publicity plays a key role—G-Dragon is doing an excellent job in that regard.”
Furthermore, Heo Seong-beom shared how his life has changed since appearing on “Bloody Game 3”, mentioning that he was stunned when around 200 fans greeted him at the Indonesian airport with pickets. He also revealed that he has been actively working as an advertisement model for a well-known domestic laptop brand and a study café, surprising everyone with his growing domestic and international popularity.

In particular, he shocked the cast by revealing that during his elementary school years, he took the gifted education entrance exam without preparation yet still placed in the top 1%. From there, he went on to attend a gifted high school and KAIST, shyly admitting to his natural-born genius status.
More details were revealed on “Radio Star”, airing on Wednesday, Feb 26th at 10:30 PM.
