Bold exposure in “The Hidden Face”, hot reactions to Park Ji-hyun: “Her acting is insane”

The movie “The Hidden Face” (directed by Kim Dae-woo), which was released on Nov 20th, gained attention early on for its daring direction. Now unveiled, its content has sparked intense reactions from the public.
“The Hidden Face” follows Seong-jin (played by Song Seung-heon) as he searches for his missing fiancée Soo-yeon (played by Cho Yeo-jeong). The plot thickens when Soo-yeon’s junior Mi-joo (played by Park Ji-hyun) enters the picture, leading to the revelation that Soo-yeon is trapped in a hidden space nearby, exposing raw truths in this intense thriller.
Even before its release, the film attracted attention due to Park Ji-hyun and Song Seung-heon’s bold full-nude scenes.

Song Seung-heon revealed that he endured a strict diet of only water and nuts for three weeks to prepare for bed scenes, while Park Ji-hyun shared her thoughts on performing daring exposure scenes for the first time since her debut.
After the film’s much-anticipated release, audiences praised the layered narrative, the actors’ exceptional performances, and especially Park Ji-hyun’s transformation.
Viewers expressed their astonishment with reactions such as, “Park Ji-hyun’s acting is insane“, “19+? I can’t remember anything but how amazing it was” and “You walk into the theater one person and leave as another.” Others commented, “Did I really just watch that?“, “The ending was mind-blowing” and “Now I understand why Park Ji-hyun was so passionate about this role.”
Park Ji-hyun shared her thoughts on exposure in an interview with Xports News. She said, “Performing scenes with exposure wasn’t nerve-wracking for me. In the scene where Mi-joo seduces Seong-jin in front of Soo-yeon, the exposure wasn’t the focus. When I select projects, I imagine the scenes in advance, and for this one, I felt that direction made sense. The director shared similar thoughts, and I agreed with him.“

Park Ji-hyun, known for her role as Mo Hyun-min in the drama “Reborn Rich”, revealed that her drama and “The Hidden Face” filming schedules overlapped, further surprising the public.
Having gained fame from the drama, Park Ji-hyun addressed concerns about taking on a bold role with exposure, “I think it was better that I did this after gaining some recognition. It means more people will take notice of it. I don’t think exposure is only for rookies. No matter when this project had come to me, I would have chosen it. Whether I was less or more famous, I would have made the same choice, but I do believe that being more recognized means the work will receive greater attention.”
After watching the film, audiences have echoed this sentiment, saying, “Now, we completely understand Park Ji-hyun’s interviews.”
