At the regular briefing of the National Investigation Headquarters on February 17th, when asked about the status of the investigation into actress Kim Sae-ron’s death, a police official explained, “We are looking at it as if she made an extreme choice and plan to handle it as a death case.”

He also added, “No suicide note nor will was found,” and “There is nothing special about the investigation.”

Meanwhile, on February 16, Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her residence at the age of 25 after a friend discovered her body and alerted the police.

A representative from the Seongdong Police Station told Dispatch, “We received a report at 4:50 PM (KST) on February 16. Officers and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene.”

According to the police, the initial reporter was a friend of the deceased. There were no signs of forced entry, and no clear evidence has been found to suggest foul play.

Authorities plan to investigate the case based on statements from the initial reporter and other relevant individuals. The police stated, “We cannot disclose details regarding a suicide note or the cause of death at this time” and asked for understanding.

Hearing the news, an acquaintance revealed that Kim Sae-ron had recently changed her name and was planning to open a café and return to the entertainment industry. “I met her late last year, and she was trying to start over,” they shared. “She was preparing to open a café with some acquaintances and make a comeback, so I can’t believe this heartbreaking news.”

In May 2022, Kim Sae-ron was involved in a drunk driving accident, colliding with roadside structures near Gangnam before fleeing. Following the incident, she spent two years in self-reflection. During this period, she became embroiled in controversies over allegedly fabricating claims of working part-time to support her family and was also rumored to have ties to a pub in Gangnam.
