BTS’s Jimin and Jungkook Officially Discharged from Military Today (June 11): “Preparing for Group Activities”

On June 11, BTS members Jimin and Jungkook were officially discharged from their mandatory military service, completing a significant chapter in their journey as South Korea’s global K-pop icons.
The duo, who enlisted together in December 2023, greeted fans and media at the Gyeonggi-do Yeoncheon Sports Complex following their exit from the Army’s 5th Artillery Brigade.

Wearing their military uniforms and holding celebratory flower bouquets, the two stars expressed gratitude to the fans who came out to see them despite the early hours. “Thank you for waiting for us through COVID-19 and the military service. Now that we’re discharged, we’ll continue painting the picture we’ve envisioned,” said Jimin, hinting at future group activities.

Jungkook, who served as a cook during his military duty, also shared heartfelt thanks to his fellow soldiers and the officers he served with. “There were a lot of experiences, and I’ll talk about them more during a live session later,” he added, suggesting a personal broadcast to reconnect with fans.
Reflecting on his service, Jimin described it as a difficult but meaningful period. “Military life was never easy, but I learned and felt a lot. I’ll keep these memories close to my heart,” he said, urging the public to show kindness to soldiers when they encounter them in everyday life.
Their discharge comes just one day after fellow members RM and V completed their duties. With Jin and J-Hope having already returned and SUGA set to finish his alternative service on June 21, BTS is poised for a full-group comeback.

Fans are especially excited as the timing aligns with BTS’s 12th debut anniversary. To celebrate, HYBE will host the massive “2025 BTS FESTA” on June 13–14 at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do. The HYBE building in Yongsan has also been wrapped with the phrase “WE ARE BACK,” signaling the group’s anticipated return.
As BTS moves closer to reuniting as a full team, anticipation builds for what’s next. Whether it’s music, performances, or global tours, ARMYs around the world are ready.
