On March 2, the 11th episode of Korean TV show “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” was aired, featuring K-pop legend BTS’s j-hope and “Squid Game” star Heo Sung-tae. In this episode, j-hope expressed his excitement, saying that “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” has always been one of his favorite shows.
Additionally, a particularly interesting “past humiliation” that occurred between j-hope and Chef Yoon Nam-no, a regular on the show, was mentioned.
To start with, j-hope mentioned during the show that there was a chef he was eager to meet, directing his gaze toward Yoon Nam-no. Flustered, Yoon responded, “I got so much criticism.”
j-hope then recalled the situation, stating, “’Culinary Class Wars’ was really popular, wasn’t it? I was drawn to Chef Yoon Nam-no’s charm and even posted about him on social media. But on another show, he said that while he knew BTS, he wasn’t very familiar with j-hope.” Hearing this, Yoon Nam-no couldn’t lift his head in embarrassment, while the other chefs reacted with shock. Chef Choi Hyun-seok even scolded him, exclaiming, “Are you crazy?”
In response, j-hope jokingly said, “I guess I had to come here to promote myself—to let people know who j-hope is”, to which Yoon explained himself by saying, “To be honest, I don’t have a TV at home. I only have a washing machine—I just sleep there and leave.”
However, when Chef Kim Poong pointed out, “But you have a phone, don’t you?” Yoon pleaded, “Please help me out this one time,” making everyone laugh. Finally, Choi Hyun-seo, who wasn’t convinced, teased, “That’s just an excuse. Even if you only had a fan at home, you’d still know who j-hope is.”
Despite the playful exchange, J-Hope took it all in good spirits, saying, “This is so much fun,” and even admitted, “Should I call this a successful fan moment?” referring to finally meeting Yoon Nam-no.
