BTS’s Jin Avoids “Power Abuse” Controversy After Jennie and Seulgi’s Scandals?
On August 1, an episode of the entertainment content “Run Jin” was released on BTS’s YouTube channel.
In the video, when Jin arrived at the restaurant, he took the tongs when a staff member tried to grill pork and said, “I should do it since I’m younger. If the staff grills it, people might say it’s an abuse of power. They don’t even know the full story,” making everyone laugh.
When the staff suggested that Jin was putting the fat on the grill too early and that it should be used to wipe the grill before cooking, Jin responded, “You can hear the sizzling sound, right? It’s up to the person grilling,” and jokingly added, “(The fat) is just for decoration.”
Jin felt embarrassed and started wiping the grill after the restaurant owner explained that the purpose of the fat was indeed to clean the grill, eliciting more laughter.
On the other hand, while Jin’s action is in good humor, it is suspected that he was being extra careful after the recent “power abuse” controversies of BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Red Velvet’s Seulgi.
In particular, Jennie came under fire for smoking indoors right in front of her staff members, while Seulgi was seen switching her heels with a staff’s more comfortable shoes, leading to criticisms.
