BTS’s Jungkook Achieves 15 Million Followers on Spotify, Fastest Among Asian Artists
Recently, Jungkook’s personal account on Spotify surpassed 15 million followers. This achievement came about 2 years and 4 months after the account was created. Jungkook reached this milestone in less than a year since his first official solo activity, demonstrating his presence as a ‘global icon.’
According to official accounts from global media outlets like ‘Viral Takes’ and ‘EXECUTIVE MEDIA,’ Jungkook has achieved 15 million followers faster than any other Asian artist on Spotify.
Despite having no official group or solo activities recently, Jungkook consistently maintains 23 million monthly listeners, a key indicator of an artist’s current popularity, which counts each listener only once. This demonstrates his strong influence and presence as a global artist.
Previously, Jungkook was the first K-pop solo artist to surpass 40 million monthly listeners on Spotify. He also set the record for the fastest Asian solo artist to gain over 570,000 followers within 24 hours of creating his personal account.
Jungkook’s Spotify account has also broken records, becoming the fastest K-pop artist’s account to exceed 6.4 billion cumulative streams (before filtering) and the first K-pop solo artist to do so.
In Spotify’s ‘2023 Wrapped’ year-end campaign, Jungkook recorded a total of 2.2 billion streams, the highest for a K-pop solo artist. Additionally, since his first official solo activity last July, Jungkook has achieved nearly 100 million listeners in a year.
Jungkook has set four Guinness World Records: the fastest K-pop solo artist to reach 1 billion streams with just three songs (‘Dreamers,’ ‘Left and Right,’ ‘Stay Alive’), the highest weekly streams for a male artist’s track with ‘Seven’ at 89,748,171 streams (after filtering), the fastest track to reach 100 million streams on Spotify (after filtering), and the fastest to achieve 1 billion streams on Spotify.
