BTS’s V, True to His Nickname ‘Kim Su-chi-myeon In-yeon,’ Shows Unexpected Connection with Kim Jin-soo

Kim Jin-soo recently posted on SNS, “I got a family heirloom. Thank you, V^^” along with a photo of an autographed album he received from V.
The photo features a message from V, “Jin-soo hyung, thank you for always supporting me. It’s an honor to know Jae-seon noona!”

The “Jae-seon noona” mentioned by V is Kim Jin-soo’s wife, lyricist Yang Jae-seon. Yang Jae-seon is a star lyricist with over 200 hit songs, including Shin Seung-hun’s “I Believe,” Sung Si-kyung’s “The Road to Me,” “Like the Beginning,” “Hee-jae,” and Kim Jo-han’s “Sorry for the Delay in Love.” She has also contributed to OSTs for dramas like “Worlds Within,” “Personal Taste,” and “Iris,” as well as numerous musical numbers.
V has been recognized as a singer-songwriter through his self-composed songs. Known for his beautiful melodies and lyrical lyrics, he seems to have expressed special delight and respect for lyricist Yang Jae-seon.

Nicknamed “Kim Su-chi-myeon In-yeon” (a play on words suggesting he forms connections easily), V is known for maintaining close relationships with both seniors and juniors in the entertainment industry. Vocal trainer Shin Yoo-mi even mentioned V as the most well-connected person in the music industry, regardless of age or field, in a variety show.
On June 10, during the ‘Chuncheon Battle Remember Festa’ event in Chuncheon, V brought warmth by respectfully greeting senior singer Lee Ji-young of Big Mama while on patrol support.
Meanwhile, on the 26th, BTS’s official account released a photo of V taken in Paris in November 2022, titled “V ‘TYPE 1’ Poster,” sparking curiosity. The gift V prepared in advance is set to be unveiled to BTS’s fandom, ARMY, on their birthday, July 9.
