Actor Byun Woo-seok solidified his place as one of Korea’s brightest stars with a standout appearance at ASEA 2025, where he not only took the stage as a presenter but also walked away with three major honors: The Best Artist, The Best OST, and Fan Choice Artist.
In a post-ceremony interview, Byun Woo-seok spoke candidly about the emotional weight of his awards and the immense support he’s received. “It made me think deeply about how I could repay the love I’ve received,” he shared. “Because these awards were given through fan votes and support, they carried far more emotion than just being trophies.”
Reflecting on his role as Sun-jae in Lovely Runner, Byun described the character as a pivotal moment in his acting career. “Sun-jae was like a gift I encountered during a dream moment… it took time for me to let him go.” He credited the experience with helping him grow emotionally and artistically, stating, “Through the project, I learned how to focus more deeply on acting and gained inner confidence.”
Looking ahead, Byun is preparing for his next major role in MBC’s 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife. He recalled feeling an immediate connection to the story: “The moment I read the script, the character vividly came to life in my mind. I had the certainty that this was a role I could do, precisely because of who I’ve become now.” He also hinted at showing a more layered and evolved version of himself through this upcoming performance.
Closing with a heartfelt message, Byun said, “Since this is something I started because I truly love it, I want to continue forward in my own way, without losing my sincerity. I’m still in the process of growing as both a good person and a good actor.”
