On June 3rd, Byun Woo-seok, who created a syndrome with tvN’s drama “Lovely Runner”, had an interview at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The actor might be a little tired since he had been doing interviews for three days, but he still smiled brightly when answering reporters’ questions.
“Lovely Runner” tells about Im Sol (Kim Hye-yoon) struggling to save her favorite idol Ryu Seon-jae (Byun Woo-seok). Byun Woo-seok took on the role of vocalist Ryu Seon-jae of the top boy band Eclipse. Ryu Seon-jae’s appearance as a visual center of the group and his first love in high school created a sensation.
In the interview, Byun Woo-seok said, “I really like the romantic comedy genre, and I especially like this drama because it is about a love in which one is willing to do anything for the other person. Isn’t he like Noah in ‘The Notebook’?”. Earlier, Byun Woo-seok also mentioned the character Noah in an interview for Netflix’s series “20th Century Girl” in 2022.
When asked about his dating style in real life, the actor said, “I’m the type of person who gets deeply involved with the other person in terms of emotions”, explaining that it is his similarity with Ryu Seon-jae.
Regarding his ideal type revealed in a past interview video, Byun Woo-seok said, “The appearance of my ideal type keeps changing. I think it’s more important that our personalities match each other. We should communicate well”, adding “I have a silly aspect so I like wise women”.
As the reporter laughed, Byun Woo-seok reacted, “Was my answer too formal?”. He emphasized, “But that really is my ideal type. Communication is very important”. When asked to describe his ideal type in more detail, Byun Woo-seok hesitated for about 10 seconds and said, “I like women who don’t swear”. He added, “This may sound a little funny, but I like people who speak nicely”.
