Right from his first step onto the set, Choi Daniel exuded infectious energy, blending effortlessly into “Running Man”’s signature playful atmosphere. He quickly engaged with the other members, and in the photos released on March 25, he can be seen posing with a cheerful smile, already looking like a natural part of the team. His quick wit and lively presence during filming hinted at his potential to bring a refreshing new vibe to the show’s upcoming episodes.

Choi Daniel previously appeared in episodes like the “Sorry for the Teamkill” race and “My Perfect Spending” race alongside actress Jeon So-min. He surprised viewers with a more relaxed and humorous side, a stark contrast to his usually polished and composed image in dramas. His antics even earned him the nickname “Gwang Daniel,” a playful nod to Lee Kwang-soo’s iconic glasses-wearing look, creating quite a buzz online.

Producer Choi Hyung-in, who helms the show, spoke positively about Choi Daniel’s addition, saying, “He has a neat and handsome appearance, but he’s also full of unexpected clumsiness. He even talks more than the other members! From his very first recording as a temporary member, he blended in seamlessly with the cast. You can definitely look forward to an even stronger performance from him.”

“Running Man”’s rental member system is a unique experiment in the variety show world, having previously featured actors like Kang Hoon and Ji Ye-eun. Notably, Ji Ye-eun went on to become a full-time cast member. Now, with Choi Daniel stepping in as the newest rental member, fans are eager to see how he’ll shake up the show. His first episode is scheduled to air on April 6.
