“Can’t Believe This Sudden Farewell”: Various Celebrity Colleagues Mourn the Late Song Jae-rim

On November 12, Hong Seok-cheon posted on his personal account, saying, “It’s heartbreaking to know I won’t see that wonderful smile of yours again. I feel devastated, having to say goodbye without even a proper farewell. I’m so sorry, truly sorry.” The shared photo showed Hong and Song smiling warmly, amplifying the sadness for viewers.

Actor Park Ho-san also expressed disbelief, saying, “I just can’t believe it, Jae-rim. It’s unbearable that someone as bright as you has left. I’m so sorry for not keeping in touch.” Fellow actor Jung Eun-pyo also mourned, saying, “I can’t believe your bright smile is gone. I’m truly sorry.”
On the 14th, actor Jung Il-woo also shared a message on his personal account, saying, “Hyung (older brother), you need to be happy there. I’m sorry. Let’s meet again someday“.

Jung Il-woo and Song Jae-rim first connected through the 2011 tvN drama “Flower Boy Ramen Shop”, and their bond grew further when they worked together again in the 2012 MBC drama “The Moon Embracing the Sun”.
Actress Lee Yoon-ji posted on her Instagram story, “You shouldn’t have… I remember your purity; I hope you live fully and freely there.” Although she didn’t mention a name, it seems to be a tribute to Song Jae-rim. The two had worked together in the 2022 film Hello.

Song Jae-rim was found deceased at his home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, around 12:30 p.m. on the 12th. A friend, who had planned to meet him for lunch, discovered him and called the police. Authorities reported that no criminal activity was suspected, and a will was found at the scene. His funeral is being held at Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital, with the burial scheduled for noon on the 14th at Seoul Municipal Crematorium.
