Before her entertainment industry debut, Ha Yeon-soo was active as a fitting model and had already built recognition among amateur photography clubs
She was even selected as the “ulzzang” (best face) in the People Ulzzang contest organized by Cyworld before entering the entertainment industry. She gained considerable popularity and received numerous comments, making her known as a rising star at the time.
In 2012, she made her debut through a Skin Food commercial. In 2013, she began her acting career with the movie “Very Ordinary Couple” and was chosen as the lead actress in Mnet’s drama “Monstar” in the same year, establishing her presence among the public. Ha Yeon-soo also appeared in various advertisements, including those with actors Lee Jong-suk, Kang Ha-neul and Song Joong-ki.
She was cast in tvN’s drama “Potato Star 2013QR3” in 2013. In an interview, director Kim Byung-wook expressed that he had a good feeling when meeting Ha Yeon-soo one-on-one and saw a raw, unrefined quality in her eyes, which was different from someone trained by a management company. He mentioned that Ha Yeon-soo’s casting felt like a matchmaking meeting.
Following her debut, Ha Yeon-soo participated in various dramas and even won first place on MBC’s entertainment show “My Little Television”, becoming the first female champion of the program.
Ha Yeon-soo, who studied art during her time at Ulsan Anione High School, shares her artworks through her personal SNS. She had a passion for drawing from a young age and went on to study Western and Oriental painting. As she became more interested in comics, she entered animation high school. She put her skills to use and showed off her drawing skills on MLT-11.
In 2022, after the contract with her agency ended, there were speculations that she might leave the entertainment industry, especially after her profile was deleted from a portal site. However, she made a comeback by visiting a maid cafe with Tanaka on the web variety show “namolla family hotshow”, achieving a huge number of views.
In November 2022, Ha Yeon-soo officially debuted in Japan at the Tokyo Girls Collection Kitakyushu event. She is currently a fixed panelist on an NHK program.
